Verbena rigida

Verbena rigida is a low-growing perennial producing vivid violet-purple flower clusters on branching stems over a long summer season. Its spreading habit and strong colour make it useful near the front of sunny borders, in gravel gardens and in pollinator-friendly planting.

Why we like it

• Vivid purple flowers over a long period
• Attractive to butterflies and bees
• Lower habit than Verbena bonariensis

What to know

• Grow in full sun.
