Serendipity Allium

Summer Drama and Rosy-Purple Blooms

The Serendipity Allium (Allium x ‘Serendipity’) offers a spectacular show in the garden, combining vibrant color, neat form, and unexpected whimsy. These ornamental onions bloom in mid to late summer with rosy-purple, globe-shaped flowers perched atop sturdy stems, just when many other plants start to fade.

Bees and butterflies love them, but deer and rabbits usually leave them alone, and they’re fantastic in fresh-cut arrangements. Come mid-summer, strong flower stalks rise up like wand-wielding garden sculptures, topped with pom-poms of pollinator-attracting magic.

All season long, you’ll enjoy tidy mounds of strappy blue-green foliage that stay upright and crisp. A sport of the famous Millennium Allium, Serendipity Allium offers improved blue foliage and an abundance of blooms with reliable cold-hardiness, drought tolerance once established, and low-maintenance needs.
