Savannah Sunset Ninebark

Latin Name: Physocarpus opulifolius Savannah Sunset

It is a striking deciduous shrub prized for its vibrant foliage and multi-season interest. This compact variety showcases a brilliant blend of orange, red, and copper tones throughout the growing season, offering an ever-changing sunset-like display. Its textured, maple-like leaves emerge in spring with vivid color and gradually deepen as the season progresses. Clusters of soft white to pale pink flowers bloom in late spring to early summer, attracting pollinators and adding contrast to the colorful foliage. In fall, the shrub transitions to deeper red hues, and its exfoliating bark adds winter appeal. Savannah Sunset Ninebark is drought-tolerant once established, low-maintenance, and adaptable to a variety of soil types. Reaching about 34 feet in height and width, its ideal for borders, foundation plantings, or as a colorful focal point. This cultivar is also deer-resistant and hardy in zones 3 to 7.
