A beautiful plumed tricorn hat, in silk-velvet, with the finest dabs and strokes of gold and white on falls. Theyre splendid at any time of year, but particularly precious and wonderful when they provide a bright splash of colour in late winter and early spring, These low-growing iris are valuable additions to pots, window boxes, alpine beds and rockeries. They will also look very sweet when popping up at the front of a sunny border. Pauline has mauve-purple petals and darker burgundy-purple falls each frosted with long, narrow leaves and an icing-sugar centres to signal and guide pollinating insects to the heart of the flower.

Plant Iris reticulata Pauline between August and December. This variety is truly unusual, and will make a stylish addition to any patio or plant these in masses. These luxurious flowers will be found on upright stems above grass-like leaves, blooming in February and April.

For the greatest visual impact, plant in areas such as gravel or rock gardens, along the edges of paths or in raised pots and troughs, including indoors.
