Navigator Pear

Overview & Description

The Navigator Pear (Pyrus x DurPSN303) is a cold-tolerant standout prized for its elegant pyramidal form and year-round appeal. In early to mid-spring, it dazzles with a profusion of bright white blossoms, followed by glossy, heart-shaped green leaves. Autumn brings a spectacular transition to vibrant yellow-red hues, while winter reveals attractive structural form.

Growth & Size

This variety exhibits a compact, pyramidal, and upright growth habit. It forms a well-shaped, narrow tree ideally suited for smaller spaces, typically reaching a mature size of about 6 to 7 meters (20 to 23 feet) in height with a spread of 3 to 4 meters (10 to 13 feet).

Additional Notes

It blooms profusely in spring. Exceptionally hardy and low-maintenance, it offers excellent resistance to common pear diseases and adapts well to urban conditions. Its compact, versatile form provides four-season interest, making it an outstanding choice for small yards, urban gardens, entryways, or as a formal focal point in mixed borders where elegance and hardiness are desired.
