Columnar Scotch Pine

Overview & Description

The Columnar Scotch Pine (Pinus sylvestris Fastigiata) brings dramatic texture and year-round interest to small landscapes with its unique architectural form. This slow-growing evergreen features twisted blue-green needles on sharply upright branches, complemented by warm orange-red bark that adds striking winter colour. The spiraled needles create visual movement while the narrow habit provides reliable structure without overwhelming limited spaces.

Growth & Size

This variety exhibits a narrow, columnar, and sharply upright growth habit. It forms a tall, slender, architecturally striking tree, typically reaching a mature size of about 15 to 20 feet in height with a spread of only 4 to 6 feet.

Additional Notes

Evergreen with twisted blue-green needles and orange-red bark year-round. Exceptionally hardy and drought-tolerant once established, it thrives with minimal care. Its space-saving design and exceptional texture make it an outstanding choice for vertical accents in small gardens, framing entryways or driveways, adding structure to mixed borders, or low-maintenance privacy screening where narrow form and four-season appeal are desired.
