Clematis Care & Maintenance

Plant easy-to-grow Boulevard Edda Clematis in fertile, well-drained soil with consistent moisture. Choose a location with full sun to partial shade, ensuring the roots remain cool and shaded, which can be achieved by mulching or planting low-growing groundcovers at the base.

• Watering: Maintain consistent soil moisture, avoiding waterlogging.
• Pruning Group 3: Blooms on new wood, allowing for hard pruning to encourage vigorous growth. In early spring, prune back to healthy buds about a foot above the ground to encourage vigorous growth and abundant blooms.
• Fertilizing: Apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges.
• Mulching: Use mulch to keep roots cool and retain soil moisture.
• Support: Provide a climbing support structure for climbing, and water regularly, especially during dry periods.
