Vision In Purple Astilbe

Add Bold Drama & Texture!

Add deep, moody color and graceful movement to your shade garden with the Vision In Purple Astilbe (Astilbe chinensis ‘Vision in Purple’). This robust herbaceous perennial bursts onto the scene in early to mid-summer with large plumes of fluffy, deep reddish-purple flowers. The blooms are dense, upright, and feathery, perfect for adding dramatic vertical contrast to softer, leafy beds.

Unlike most Astilbe, this variety is particularly drought-tolerant once established, making it a resilient standout in shade or part-shade conditions.

Vision In Purple forms a lush clump of deeply cut, dark green to bronze foliage that provides a sharp contrast to its vivid blooms. Leaves are coarsely textured, fern-like, and lend an almost woodland texture to the garden, even when not in bloom. Plants typically reach 18-24 inches tall and wide, forming dense, upright mounds that thicken each year.
