Plant Chicklet Red Trumpet Bush in full sun in fertile, well-drained to dry soil. This heat-loving shrub thrives in the warmest, sunniest spots in the garden and is an outstanding container plant for patios and decks. Water regularly during establishment, then reduce frequency as it becomes drought-tolerant. In zones 811 it is evergreen and blooms reliably from summer to frost; in colder zones, treat as a spectacular container annual and bring indoors before frost. Prune lightly in early spring after leafing out to encourage dense new growth.
