Sienna Glen Maple

Overview & Description

Sienna Glen Maple (Acer x freemanii Sienna) is a vigorous, well-branched deciduous tree prized for its pyramidal form and striking yellow-red fall foliage. This Freeman maple cultivar offers exceptional resilience, with resistance to frost cracking, sunscald, dieback, and wind, making it a reliable choice for exposed sites and challenging landscapes. Its strong, sturdy branching provides excellent structural integrity.

Growth & Size

This variety exhibits a vigorous, well-branched, pyramidal growth habit. It is a fast-growing tree, typically reaching a mature size of about 33 50 feet in height with a spread of 26 30 feet.

Additional Notes

It blooms in spring with inconspicuous flowers. Hardy to Zone 3, it is drought tolerant once established and prefers moist, slightly acidic, well-drained soil. Prune only when in full leaf as needed to avoid excess bleeding. An outstanding choice for shade trees, street plantings, parks, large landscapes, and exposed sites where vigorous growth, pyramidal form, yellow-red fall foliage, and environmental resistance are desired.
